Welcome to the first production update for 2021 in the Box Office!

The first thing I'll point out is that our numbers for January are back on track after a less than stellar performance from the previous month. We are set to slam February out of the park! Five to six boxes per week should get us finished with all 100 Sea Chests in 10-12 weeks.
I'm not agonizing over the speed at this point; I just want us to focus on making the best product we possibly can.

There were a few small setbacks, and another box or two that died, but the process is super sustainable at this point. There is an issue with a maze pattern in the box that is not oriented optimally with the grain direction...I may make a small pre-operation to glue in inserts with the grain in the correct orientation in order to make a box that will never break or chip.

It's great to be able to design the next couple of boxes while this project is still moving forward! I've been working on the Sundial as well as a really cool design I call the Fibonacci box. The Fibonacci is still just a CAD file on my computer, but it's a throwback to the Pi box and works in much the same way, but the solution is just too pleasing to leave it unmade. I'm not sure if I'll make the Fibonacci immediately after finishing the Sea Chests or if we'll make the Sundial box first. Time will tell.

I want to take a bit of time to work on making some really cool yosegi patterns this month. Grain orientation is the thing that has thrown me off before, but I think I've got a plan that will solve that problem for me the next time around.

We use fifty-four clamps on each box
